Isolated Storms Today 5-22-18

TONIGHT: Isolated storms continue moving northeastward through the evening hours. These bring small hail and brief gusty winds along with some heavy downpours and frequent lightning. Storms end shortly after sunset. Partly cloudy skies continue overnight with temps falling to the 40s and 50s by early tomorrow morning.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny skies return with warm temperatures. Highs reach the 80s and 90s with 70s for our mountain cities. Dry with high clouds and warm temperatures are around during the Air Force Academy graduation. Temps will be in the 70s and low 80s during this time. Winds will also pick up for the afternoon. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for the San Luis Valley from Noon to 8 p.m. Isolated storms may develop across parts of the mountains and plains later in the day, but most areas stay dry.

EXTENDED: A drier and warmer pattern continues through the rest of the week. Thursday looks to be the warmest day with highs in the 80s and 90s. Periods of wind and isolated storms are likely. Most areas stay rain free with elevated fire danger. Temps become even warmer for the weekend with isolated storms possible.
