Colorado springs police investigating shots fired incident between cars

Colorado Springs police are investigating a suspicious incident between cars around Academy Blvd. and Constitution Ave., in which shots were fired late Thursday night.

Police found one vehicle in the 1300 block of Potter Drive. Upon contacting the people in the vehicle, one man fled on foot. The man has been identified as 19-year-old Maurice Cole. Police chased Cole and while trying to take him into custody, got into an altercation. Cole suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No injuries were reported as a result of the shots being fired. The investigation is ongoing.
