Colorado Springs neighborhood blocked while police arrest fugitive

More than a dozen police officers are at two scenes in a southeast Colorado Springs neighborhood, and several residents were blocked from getting to their homes Monday afternoon.

Police are at the intersection of Jet Wing and Cita drives, and another scene was set up near Nordic and Hoosier, which is about two blocks away. The streets were closed for about an hour before being reopened at 4:50 p.m.

CSPD told us a wanted fugitive was taken into custody at a nearby townhome. Nobody was injured during the arrest, and police said the man was arrested without incident. He was identified as Joe Gutierrez, 41.
