Serious crash in Colorado Springs closes stretch of N. Academy
Northbound Academy is closed at Woodmen Rd., as Colorado Springs Police investigate a serious crash.
It happened Thursday night in the 7300 block of N. Academy Blvd.
A woman tells KRDO Newschannel 13 that she was driving northbound on Academy when a motorcyclist collided with her van, knocking out the rear passenger window. The woman tells us she’s confused as to how this happened because she did not see the motorcyclist before the collision. She immediately stopped and stayed at the scene. She was not injured.
Witnesses who came upon the scene tell us that the motorcyclist was on fire. They helped put out the flames before paramedics arrived.
Right now we don’t know the condition of the motorcyclist.
