Man killed in overnight crash in Colorado Springs

One man was killed in an overnight crash in Colorado Springs.

The crash happened just after 11:00 p.m. Thursday, at the intersection of N. Academy Blvd. and Shrider Rd.

Colorado Springs Police say the motorcyclist was northbound on N. Academy at a high rate of speed when it struck a passenger van. The man’s motorcycle burst into flames after the collision. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The driver of the van was not hurt. At this time we don’t know the name of the man who was killed.

CSPD is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call 444-7000.
