Rain, storms and snow today – 5/2/18
TODAY: Over the course of the afternoon, anything over the higher terrain will become more widespread and spread east toward the I-25 corridor. Thunderstorms are possible at time during the afternoon over the lower elevations, brining the possibility of small hail. We will see continued rain and snow showers in the mountains. Highs warm into the 50s and 60s for mountain cities and the front range. Places out over the eastern plains will warm into the 70s today. Red Flag Warnings are in place through 8PM for eastern Las Animas County and Baca County.
TONIGHT: There will likely be a lull in snow and rain shower activity late tonight before it picks up again in the pre-dawn hours. Lows cool to the 30s and 40s.
EXTENDED: A wet spring snow picks up again over Teller County and Pikes Peak by tomorrow morning. The foothills in the Pikes Peak Region could also see some of this activity. Spotty rain and storms are possible out east. This all wraps up by the second half of Thursday. Several inches are possible over the mountains with a trace to 1″ for Teller County (isolated areas of 2″) and the Palmer Divide, mainly on grassy areas. 3-6″ is possible over Pikes Peak. A couple of inches are possible in the higher terrain over the Sangres and the Wets.
