Colorado Springs Police respond to a suspicious death near Powers and Airport

Colorado Springs Police responded to a death at an extended-stay-hotel in the 500 block of Airport Creek Point Tuesday but clarified Wednesday that it was no longer being considered suspicious.

When police arrived on the scene they found an unresponsive woman. Officers learned the woman was involved in an assault and in the hospital the night before. She was released from the hospital after she was treated.

It is not clear if the assault is connected to the death. Police are currently looking into the suspects of the assault.

Right now officers do not know the cause of the death or where it happened. The woman was renting a room at the hotel, and it is unclear how long she had been staying there.

There are no suspects right now. Officers will know more after the autopsy.
