High fire danger for some – 05/01/18

Today: There are several Red Flag Warnings in effect in Pueblo, the Raton Mesa, the San Luis Valley and Baca Counties today. Gusts could reach 35 mph. Avoid outdoor burning and use extreme caution! While it could still be breezy in the Pikes Peak region, relative humidity levels will be higher. We have a slight chance for stray showers in El Paso and Teller Counties. Highs will be cooler, reaching the 60s and 70s.

Tonight: Showers wind down. Mostly cloudy skies are expected. Fire danger will drop. Lows drop to the 30s and 40s.

Extended: We’ll be dealing with some gusts from time-to-time the next few days. We’ve got daily chances for some scattered storms through Thursday. In fact, northern El Paso and Teller Counties could even accumulate some snow Wednesday into Thursday. We’ll have lighter winds Friday and Saturday. Temperatures warm up nicely this weekend.
