Gusty day with high fire danger – 04/30/18

Today: Highs reach the 70s and 80s this afternoon with partly to mostly sunny skies. It will be another GUSTY day. We have Red Flag Warnings in effect from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Gusts could reach 45 mph! For this reason, we also have a Wind Alert Level One in place. Dry fuels, low relative humidity levels and strong winds will boost that fire danger, so avoid outdoor burning!

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies take us into early Tuesday morning. Lows drop to the 30s and 40s. Winds become light and fire danger decreases.

Extended: It will be breezy-to-windy the next several days; however, with times of showers, fire danger should be lower (depending upon who could see rain). Wednesday into Thursday, there could be some rain/snow in the higher elevations of the Pikes Peak region with the potential for travel impacts. Temperatures drop to the 50s and 60s for many areas in the middle of the work week. Highs warm back to the 70s and 80s by Saturday. At that point in time, the weather looks lovely!
