Tracking 4th of July Storms

Today: Hot temperatures are still on the rise and storms are brewing. A thunderstorm with lightning and heavy rain is passing across the northern areas of El Paso County. More showers are likely in Colorado Springs from 4-6 pm, with a good chance to get some thunder and lightning. High temperatures are in the mid-80s with overnight lows dropping to the high 50s. Air quality is poor in some regions across the high country along with the areas around the Aspen Acres Fire.

Tomorrow: High temperatures are increasing to 86 for Colorado Springs with 92 degrees in Pueblo. The likelihood to get thunderstorms is increasing as we head into the back half of the weekend. Over the high country and along the Sangre De Cristos thunderstorms are firing up from 2-3 pm. After 4 pm some showers are possible for the northern neighborhoods of El Paso County but strong thunderstorms are mainly kept to the south.
