UPDATE: Neighbors able to return after wildfire forces evacuations near Park-Chaffee County line

UPDATE: Officials say neighbors can now return home.

EARLIER: A wildfire is forcing evacuations near the Park and Chaffee County line on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Park County website, there is a fire in the Ranch of the Rockies subdivision.

The Kaufman Fire is only estimated to be about five acres, but is threatening several structures to the northeast of where the fire is burning.

Mandatory evacuations are underway from Ranch Road north to Campfire, Blacksmith and Oahu.

According to Pike & San Isabel National Forests Cimarron & Comanche National Grasslands Fire Information, the fire was reported around 11:28 a.m.

There is no word yet on containment of the fire, but several agencies are working to get it under control.

Fire crews say some of the challenges they are facing are high winds and snags in the area.

At this time, it is believed the fire was human caused, but there is no word yet about the circumstances.
