Active weather ahead – 4/28/18
TONIGHT: A few lingering showers or a rain snow mix is possible over the mountains tonight. Otherwise look for dry skies with overnight lows in the 40s.
EXTENDED: Tomorrow brings a mostly sunny to partly cloudy start. By the afternoon, Red Flag Warnings will go into effect for Pueblo, Walsenburg and Trinidad. Places just to the east are also included. This is because winds will pick up into the afternoon. Dry fuels and low relative humidity mean high fire danger through the evening on Sunday. More moisture will be in place over the far eastern plains, so locations through Burlington, Lamar, Springfield and Kim could all see a few afternoon thunderstorms. A couple of those could become strong and produce lightning, small hail and gusty winds. Winds and fire danger remain through Monday before showers chances ramp up on Tuesday.
