Warm Weekend Ahead 4-27-18
TONIGHT: Skies become partly cloudy overnight with lows in the 30s and 40s.
TOMORROW: Another warm day is expected with highs several degrees warmer in most areas. Highs climb to the 60s and 70s with a few 80s within reach across the Southeastern Plains. Skies are mostly sunny but cloud cover begins to increase through the afternoon hours. A few showers and thunderstorms develop over the mountains and spread eastward through the evening. Lightning will be the primary hazard. Winds remain light but increase again Sunday.
EXTENDED: Sunday will be another warm and dry day. There will be the potential for a few storms near the Kansas border by Sunday evening. Winds also become stronger which increases the fire danger across the region. More wind and fire danger is on tap for Monday. By Tuesday through the end of the week an active pattern returns. There will be daily chances for showers and thunderstorms, and even a few snow showers. We’ll be tracking this moisture and cooler temperatures next week.
