Chase ends in wreck, arrest of Colorado Springs murder suspect

A suspect wanted in connection to a murder in Colorado Springs was caught in Pueblo County Wednesday night after leading law enforcement on a chase.

It’s unclear how the chase started, but it began on I-25, Colorado State Patrol said.

The chase ended up going into Pueblo West where the driver wrecked and was taken into custody in the area of Purcell Boulevard. Then he managed to escape, but was taken back into custody.

State Patrol confirms the suspect is William Camacho, Jr. He was wanted in connection to the murder of Brandie Preciado from Colorado Springs.

The 21-year-old was shot and killed Sunday night off Airport Road. A man was also shot and taken to the hospital. His name has not been released.
