Gusty morning with rain/snow possible – 04/24/18

Today: It will be a somewhat active weather day; however, the impacts from our gusts and rain/snow aren’t going to be significant. This morning as a cold front rolled through the area, we’ve dealt with strong gusts. While we stay windy this morning, our stronger gusts should shift to the east this afternoon and tonight. That’s why we don’t have an official wind alert in effect all day long. Now, we do have chances for a rain/snow mix – especially this afternoon and tonight. Little to no accumulations are expected. Most of that accumulation would be on cooler surfaces like grassy areas. We love seeing that moisture! In terms of temperatures, we’ve already reached our highs, but we’ll have “secondary highs” this afternoon in the 30s and 40s.

Tonight: Rain and snow should be gradually winding down overnight. Lows drop to the 20s and 30s under mostly cloudy skies. Of course, there could be some slick spots as temperatures drop.

Extended: We’re expecting warmer and sunnier weather on Wednesday with highs in the 50s and 60s. We’ll have a few more shower/storm chances this week on Thursday and Saturday, but beyond that – we stay dry! For the most part, winds shouldn’t be bad this week. Sure, it could be breezy from time-to-time this work week, but the winds won’t be as wild as what we had last week. That changes slightly this weekend; Saturday and Sunday, gusts could reach the 30s and 40s. We’ll track it!
