Marty’s Saturday Morning Forecast – Unsettled Saturday – 4/21/18

Today: Areas of fog, freezing fog and light snow will continue this morning. We expect a partly to mostly cloudy sky this afternoon with intermittent showers in the form of rain and snow at times. Under any heavier bursts of precipitation snow is more likely than rain around the Pikes Peak Region, but additional accumulations of snow will probably be light, and confined to cooler surfaces. We’ll be a bit breezy at times and cool today with high temperatures in the 40s and 50s for the plains, 30s to lower 40s for the mountains.

Tonight: Any leftover rain and snow showers will end, and then we expect decreasing clouds along and west of I-25. Pockets of low cloud cover and patchy fog may develop over low lying areas in eastern Colorado overnight. Cool with low temperatures in the 30s for most areas tonight.

Extended: The air will warm noticeably on Sunday with high temperatures back into the 60s to lower 70s for the plains, mainly 50s over the mountains. Still warm on Monday, but enough instability may exist for some late day showers, or possibly a bit of thunder. Increasing wind & turning colder on Tuesday with a chance for some showers. Wednesday looks mostly dry and warmer, but another cold front could bring scattered showers to the area on Thursday. We should end the week dry and warmer again.
