39-year-old man fatally shot in Colorado Springs apartment

A 39-year-old man was identified as the person found shot to death in an east Colorado Springs apartment last week.

Police said Thursday that Earnest Gene Ramsey II was killed Friday at the Pine Creek Village apartment complex.

CSPD didn’t give any other details, and it’s not clear if a suspect has been identified. The department said it’s the seventh homicide investigation so far in 2018.

Colorado Springs police responded to a possible shooting at the Pine Creek Village apartments Friday and later confirmed that a death investigation is underway.

Springs police said officers are at the complex near 800 Chapman Drive for the investigation, but no other details were given.
