Wind and Fire Danger Return 4-18-18
TONIGHT: Mostly clear skies continue with light southeast winds allowing temps to fall to the 20s and 30s by early tomorrow morning.
TOMORROW: A Wind Alert Level 1 is in effect as we will see wind gusts returns to the 30s and 40s creating more high fire danger. Red Flag Warnings are in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the San Luis Valley and from Fremont and Pueblo county down to the New Mexico border. Temperatures will be warmer with highs in the 60s and 70s. Mountain cities will remain in the 50s.
EXTENDED: A Weather Alert is then in effect for Friday as a big spring storm will arrive bringing rain and storms to the lower elevations with snow for the higher terrain. As temps fall Friday night, the Palmer Divide, Teller County and the Southern Mountains will see a chance for accumulating snowfall. This storm will also bring cooler temperatures and gusty winds. Rain and snow will linger into Saturday before we become drier and warmer Sunday. Stay with Storm Tracker 13 as we track our next chances for moisture in Southern Colorado.
