Suspects arrested for Colorado Springs home invasion that injured 2 kids

Three men are now in custody after a startling home invasion earlier this month in east Colorado Springs that resulted in two children being sent to the hospital.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, 23-year-old Jerenzo Clarence Kyles, 22-year-old Elliott Salther, and 25-year-old Keotis Demetric Reed were arrested and charged in connection with the home invasion.

It happened on April 4 near Wyatt Street and Monica Drive — the two men are accused of entering a house there and assaulting two juveniles before fleeing and firing a handgun multiple times at a neighbor. No one was struck by the bullets, but some nearby property was damaged.

CSPD said Reed was identified as the owner of the red Dodge Avenger that was seen leaving the scene. He was interviewed on April 11 and charged with accessory to crime.

Salther was arrested on April 12 after a standoff near San Marcos Drive. El Paso County SWAT had to respond to his house and shoot out the windows with gas canisters. He was charged with attempted first-degree murder. VIDEO:

Police got an arrest warrant for Kyles on a charge of attempted first-degree murder. Investigators with CSPD and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force learned that he was in the area of Killeen, Texas. He was taken into custody Monday at a Walmart in Killeen.

The investigation is still ongoing, but the three men will have their first court appearances soon. CSPD said their mugshots would be released later.
