Quieter Weather Returns Tomorrow 4-17-18

TONIGHT: Winds will eventually become lighter overnight as a front passes through. Skies are expected to be mostly clear and as winds become lighter, temps fall to the 20s and 30s with some teens for the High Country.

TOMORROW: Wednesday will be a quieter day with less wind and lower fire danger. It could still be a little breezy along the far Eastern Plains as the front continues to pull away. Skies overall will be mostly sunny. Temps will be cooler with highs in the 50s and 60s in most areas with 40s for the mountain cities.

EXTENDED: Winds begin to increase again on Thursday and a Wind Alert is already in effect. Gusts are likely to return to the 30s and 40s making fire danger return to critical levels. It is possible some places will once again go under Red Flag Warnings. Temps will be warmer with highs in the 60s and 70s at lower elevations and 50s for the mountain cities. The pattern begins to change on Friday as low pressure moves in bringing snow to the higher terrain and rain and thunderstorms to the lower elevations. Some areas are likely to see a good soaking of rainfall while other places see accumulating heavy, wet snow. Temps will be cooler as highs drop to the 30s and 40s. We will still be tracking gusty winds Friday into Saturday. Rain and snow showers will then end on Saturday leaving Sunday dry and warmer. Stay tuned for updated as we track this next storm!
