UPDATE: Colorado Springs police arrest barricaded robbery suspect

Colorado Springs police arrested a suspect wanted for robbery and attempted murder who barricaded themselves in the southeast side of the city.

Police set up at San Marcos and Delta drives (MAP) around 1:40 p.m., according to a tweet by the department. An alert was sent to 103 contacts in the area of 2400 Lexus Drive. The El Paso County SWAT has also responded to the scene.

The suspect’s identity hasn’t been released yet. No one was injured during the standoff.

Neighbors say the suspect is armed inside a home. Police told us he has an active warrant for attempted murder and robbery.

Centennial and Monterey elementary schools were on lockout procedures, which is standard protocol, according to the district.

We’re working on getting more information on the suspect’s alleged crimes.
