A CSU-Pueblo baseball player loves creepy creatures

For as long as he can remember, Chris Douglas has had a hobby, “From the time I could read the first books I ever read were like small picture books about animals and stuff like that,” says Douglas.

Specifically, spiders,”Currently, spider-wise, I think it’s about 13,” says Douglas.

Douglas collects spiders because he’s fascinated by their beauty and at some level he connects with the arachnids, “I guess I’m kind of like a spider in a sense because I’m not reclusive about it, it’s not a secret, but when people find out they kind of find it to be a little daunting,” says Douglas.

Count his coach Stan Sanchez as one of those daunted, “No I’m not a spider guy, they kinda frighten me too so when I heard about it I was a little taken aback by it. I’ve been in it for about 50 years, coaching, at all levels, and this is the first time I’ve ever run into something like this,” says Sanchez.
