Colorado Springs police investigating ‘severely decomposed’ body in Fountain Creek

The Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating after a body was found Wednesday dumped along Fountain Creek.

It was found just southeast of Las Vegas Street and Tejon Street in a wooded, marshy area. Homicide detectives were at the scene and found a “severely decomposed body” in a wetland area. (MAP)

No identity has been determined, and police are still investigating the cause of death.

At this time, it’s not clear if this is a homicide, suicide, or accident.

Police said additional updates would be made available “as appropriate.”
