Warm today and cooler Friday – 04/05/18

Today: Partly to mostly cloudy skies are on tap for southern Colorado – along with warm temperatures once again! Highs will reach the 60s and 70s in the lower elevations with the 50s for the local mountains. It will be slightly breezy, but winds shouldn’t be strong enough to require any Red Flag Warnings. Even still, try to avoid outdoor burning! Fuels are still dry, and relative humidity levels are low.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy skies are expected overnight. Lows drop to the 30s and 40s. It should be quiet overnight.

Extended: Temperatures will drop significantly Friday; highs will only reach the 40s and 50s before a strong easterly cold front will drop through southern Colorado in the afternoon. As a result of this front, winds could be gusty! Temperatures tumble into the afternoon, and light rain and snow could start to form along the Front Range and eastern plains. IF we see any accumulations in places, it should be extremely light – only amounting to about a trace on the grassy areas and patio furniture. Beyond that, roads will be primarily wet. Another chance of showers is possible Sunday.
