Rain and snow ahead – 4/5/18

TODAY: Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy this afternoon and we will feel more warm temperatures in the 60s and 70s. No red flags are out today due to a lack of strong winds, but that fire danger remains elevated. Fuels are dry and fire could catch fairly quickly. Please be aware of this through the daytime.

TONIGHT: We will be mostly cloudy tonight and our lows cool to the 30s and 40s.

EXTENDED: A front pushes in from the east tomorrow which will increase the winds through the daytime. Gusts will likely be in the 30s, especially in the afternoon and evening. This front will help to produce some rain and snow across the area. This will likely start out as a mix in the afternoon and could transition to a wet snow by the evening. Accumulations will be very light and will be contained to grassy areas and our mountain cities. A trace or less is expected here in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Canon City and the Eastern Plains.
