Current Woodland Park Mayor Wins Election

Thousands of Woodland Park voters sent in their ballots for the local election Tuesday and the initial results are in.

Incumbent mayor Neil Levy received 1183 votes while his opponent and current city council member Val Carr received 1007 votes. Officials say they feel comfortable calling this race despite votes still needing to be counted.

Three city council seats were also up for grabs tonight. Kellie Case and Hillary LaBarre have won two of the seats, but the third seat is still to be determined since officials say it’s too close to call. Adding it will be about eight days to count the rest of the ballots before the final results are determined.

This was one of the larger voter turnouts Woodland Park officials have seen. Getting back a little more than 2,200 ballots out of the 5,500 sent out.
