Cold with lighter winds tonight 4-3-18

TONIGHT: Skies remain mostly clear overnight with lighter winds. Cold temps settle in with lows in the teens and 20s.

TOMORROW: After a chilly start, tomorrow afternoon becomes much warmer with highs returning to the 50s and 60s with some 70s across the Southeastern Plains. Skies will be mostly sunny and for many areas winds will be lighter. Critical fire danger is expected in Southern Colorado where Red Flag Warnings are in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM for the far southern plains, mountains and valleys. Winds in these areas will gust closer to 35 mph.

EXTENDED: Thursday is another mild day with mostly sunny skies. Clouds then increase later Thursday with showers moving into the mountains. A cold front will drop across the Eastern Plains Friday bringing much colder temps and the potential for rain and snow showers. Friday’s storm system looks to be our best chance for moisture at least in the short term. Milder air returns for Saturday and Sunday with some isolated showers possible Sunday. We’ll track the latest so stay tuned to Storm Tracker 13.
