Man seen starting multiple fires along Highway 115 in Colorado Springs

A man is in custody for allegedly setting fires along Highway 115 near Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard.

Just before 1:00 PM the Colorado Springs Police and Fire Departments received a call about a man seen intentionally starting the fires. When firefighters arrived, the saw two fires next to the highway. Officials say they were able to extinguish the blazes before they grew out of control.

Witnesses described the suspect to police and officers were able to find him and connect both fires to him. Arthur Rudd was charged with two counts of arson.

Rudd will appear in El Paso County court on Tuesday for an arraignment hearing.
