Drone shows expansive burn scar from Highway 24 fire
The Highway 24 Fire burned nearly 400 acres, and threatened dozens of structures in its path.
On Tuesday, the day after the fire, KRDO crews went out to capture video from above with the Skytracker13 drone.
The images show where the fire came dangerously close to homes, in some cases burning all the way around the houses.
The drone video also shows how fire crews used some of the roads in the rural area as natural breaks to stop the fire.
While all the major structures were saved in the area, there was some documented damage, with hundreds of acres of burned grass, and some fences and other small items were scorched.
