High fire danger on Monday – 4/1/18

TONIGHT: Lows drop to the upper 20s and 30s tonight under a partly cloudy to mostly clear sky. It will be breezy at times overnight, but strongest gusts hold off until Monday.

EXTENDED: High fire danger is expected for Monday afternoon, so red flag warnings are in place for the southern half of the state from 11am through 8pm. Gusts will be into the mid and upper 40s, so a wind alert level 1 is also in place through the daytime. Please take fire precautions seriously if outdoors. A front moves in Monday overnight into the pre-dawn hours Tuesday. A few snow showers are possible in our mountain cities and the Palmer Divide after midnight, but accumulation or travel issues are not expected. More mild air returns on Wednesday with highs in the 60s and 70s.
