Inmate caught after escaping from Fremont County detention center

The Colorado Department of Corrections captured an inmate Tuesday who broke out of the Skyline Correctional Facility Sunday in Fremont County.

Robert Roberts was serving time for forgery, according to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office. He undoubtedly will face additional charges for his escape.

Roberts was caught at the Parkdale Quarry, which is just outside of Canon City.

CDOC thanked local law enforcement agencies and the public for help in finding Roberts.
