Deputies seize 78 lbs of marijuana from home in Teller County

Deputies seized several marijuana plants, a large amount of dried marijuana and located growing equipment at a home in Teller County on Monday.

The Teller County Sheriff’s Office received a tip saying there was a grow operation on Nottingham Lane, north of Divide. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 42 pounds of processed and 36 pounds of unprocessed marijuana. They also found a semi-trailer that had been converted into an elaborate growing room.

Deputies arrested Maria Victoria Rizo Diaz and Alexandre Montejo, both Cuban citizens. Diaz and Montejo are charged with drug felony charges for processed marijuana and evidence of large-scale illegal distribution.
