Search underway for escaped inmate in Fremont County

A search is underway Sunday for an escaped inmate in Fremont County.

22-year-old Robert Roberts escaped from the Skyline Correctional facility in Cañon City, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office said.

Roberts was last seen near the river between Mackenzie Avenue and Pathfinder Park. He was wearing dark green inmate clothing.

People are asked to avoid the area.

Roberts was serving time for forgery, according to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office.
