Fire 90% contained at Pueblo Chemical Depot
A fire burning on Pueblo Chemical Depot property is now 90% contained.
The fire that broke out Saturday afternoon has destroyed building 576 and 581 with minimal damage to a third warehouse, according to the Pueblo Chemical Depot. The electricity and gas has been shut off in the warehouse area as a precaution.
The fire is not near the stockpile, according to Pueblo Chemical Depot Public Affairs. The stockpile remains safe.
The smoke plume can be seen in multiple areas in Southern Colorado.
Pueblo and Pueblo County fire crews are helping to fight the fire, along with the Pueblo Chemical Depot’s crew.
