UPDATE: Larkspur fire now 100 percent contained

Firefighters battled a large fire near Spruce Mountain Road and Noe Road Friday in Douglas County.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said helicopters are deployed. Right now there is no word on the size of the fire. KDVR is reporting that two homes in the area have been evacuated.

Douglas County said at 2:55 p.m. that the fire had burned 170 acres. By 6 p.m., it was reported to be 100 percent contained. Crews said they would monitor hot spots overnight.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, a pre-evacuation notice was just issued via CodeRed Reverse 911 for the area of Noe Rd and South of Fox Farm Rd between I-25 and Perry Park Rd. Residents are asked to be prepared to evacuate.
