Grass fire near Pinello Ranch south of Colorado Springs now contained

Smoke visible in south Colorado Springs Friday came from a brush fire in Security, according to El Paso County officials.

The fire was near Fountain Creek and had burned about 10 acres before being contained by about 4 p.m. Firefighters said it began to grow toward the creek bed.

No structures in the area are threatened, and no injuries were reported. Multiple fire departments were on scene, according to the El Paso County Office of Emergency Management.
