Colorado Springs police investigating 2 overnight robberies

Colorado Springs police are investigating two armed robberies that took place late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

The first happened at about 10:45 p.m. near North Gate Boulevard and Voyager Parkway ( MAP ) when a Hispanic man wearing all black with a gray mask demanded money at gunpoint.

Police said that suspect was seen running south with two other men. Officers set up a perimeter and called in a K-9 team but weren’t able to find the men.

About three hours later, police were called to another robbery at a convenience store on Duryea Drive ( MAP ). A store clerk told officers the thief pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the register before running north on foot. The suspect was described as 5’10” and 200 pounds and wore a long-sleeve green shirt and khaki pants.

Police haven’t said if any surveillance videos of the robberies exist.
