Warming up this week – 3/19/18

TODAY: The low pressure system that brought us snow last night continues to race off toward the east this afternoon. As it does so, our winds will calm significantly through the daytime. Highs will be cooler behind this front so we should only top off in the 40s and 50s. 30s for our mountain cities. A few snow showers are possible in the higher terrain through the evening commute, but aren’t likely to cause issues.

TONIGHT: We will be mostly clear tonight with chilly overnight lows in the teens and 20s. Any snow that melted during the afternoon has the potential to re-freeze tonight.

EXTENDED: The long range forecast looks very quiet and dry. Highs will be warming significantly through Thursday afternoon. By then, most places will be feeling temperatures in the 70s! Low 80s are a good possibility on the Eastern Plains. Unfortunately, this will likely be coming with some gusty winds, so high fire danger could be a concern for the second half of the week.
