Carson Midway Fire 100% Contained, Crews Still Monitoring Hot Spots

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said the Carson Midway Fire is now 100 percent contained as of Sunday afternoon.

Crews are still working to put out the tires burning in the 20800 block of Prairie Fire Point. Neighbors near this area are still evacuated from their homes.

The Red Cross is offering services for people still displaced and can be contacted at (800) 417-0495. Case workers are also available at the chapter office on Sunday. The office is located at 1040 S. 8th Street in Colorado Springs.

El Paso County Public Health is also offering clean-up help to residents who have returned home.

Fire personnel from within El Paso County, Pueblo County and Fort Carson will continue to monitor for hot spots throughout Sunday in the fire zone.
