Smoke visible from 300-acre fire on Fort Carson

A plume of smoke emanating from Fort Carson could be seen by residents in Pueblo, but The Post says it’s from a fire that’s nearly contained.

Fort Carson officials tell KRDO a 300-acre grass fire was burning at a training range. No structures were threatened by the fire and no people were in danger.

The Post said the fire was 95 percent contained and had a strong perimeter at about 11 a.m.

A Red Flag Warning was issued Thursday due to high winds and dry conditions.
