Remains found near Woodland Park confirmed to be Micah Lambert

Teller County authorities confirmed on Thursday that the remains found along Catamount Trail near Woodland Park last week are, in fact, those of Micah Lambert.

The 39-year-old was last seen on September 23 of last year, and her vehicle was found abandoned in the parking lot of the Catamount Recreational nearly a week later.

Search crews worked for several days following the discovery of Lambert’s vehicle, but they had no success.

On March 9, a hiker found a human skull around 250 yards off the Ring of the Peak Trail, which circles Pikes Peak. More remains were discovered several hundred yards away as well as a backpack, cell phone, an ID belonging to Lambert, and a pistol.

The Teller County Coroner said the autopsy showed an injury consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
