Another weekend of beating the extreme heat

Today: We are likely going to break the August 8th daily high temperature record in Colorado Springs. The record as it stands is 97 degrees and we are likely to hit 98 degrees today. A few evening showers are going to save the 5-6 pm hour from extremely warm temperatures. Winds will likely pick up during that time frame as well. The hottest temperature we have ever seen in the Month of August is 99 degrees but for Pueblo it's 107 which was set earlier this month.

Pueblo will likely tie the daily high temperature record for August 8th of 104 degrees today. La Junta and Lama could get up to 106. Because of these hot conditions there is a heat advisory until 8 pm.

Tomorrow: Another heat advisory is in place from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm. High temperatures will be very similar. As we head into the work week temperature will slowly be on a decline and moisture will increase significantly bringing daily evening showers and thunderstorms.
