Pueblo school briefly evacuated while package investigated

Students at Liberty Point Elementary School had to be evacuated Thursday morning while police investigated a suspicious package, but it turned out to be safe.

That’s according to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, which said the Pueblo Metro Bomb Squad had to be called to look into the package. The package wasn’t a threat.

Students were able to return to class by about 10:45 a.m.
