Beautiful day with fire danger ahead – 03/14/18

Today: Highs across southern Colorado will be warmer compared to what we got yesterday! Temperatures will reach the 60s and 70s for the lower elevations with the 50s for the local mountains. Partly sunny skies (clouds of the high-level variety) are expected with a slight breeze. Fire danger will be elevated a bit, but more so tomorrow.

Tonight: Mostly clear skies are anticipated overnight. Lows drop to the 30s. We’ll be dry overnight, and it could be a bit blustery.

Extended: Winds are expected to increase across the area the next few days, and this will elevate fire danger even more! In fact, Fire Weather Watches are in effect tomorrow for many areas (primarily along and south of Highway 50). Use extreme caution and avoid outdoor burning! We have a Wind Alert Level One in place Thursday because we could get gusts into the 30 mph range. Late Thursday, we have small chances for a rain/snow mix with little to no impacts. This upcoming weekend, temperatures drop to the 40s and 50s by Sunday.
