CSPD responds to hostage prank call

Officers received a call Sunday night from a man who said he shot and killed his mother and was holding his girlfriend hostage until officers arrived.

Authorities arrived to Leon Young Drive in northwest Colorado Springs and were able to get inside the home only to find a woman playing video games. No one in the home was in danger or hurt.

The investigation has revealed the call was an online prank known as a “Swatting Call.”
