Crews working hard-to-reach brush fire in Pueblo Mountain Park

A brush fire broke out on top of a ridge in Pueblo Mountain Park, and it’s so remote that multiple emergency agencies are having to get to the scene on foot.

The fire started Monday afternoon just west of Beulah. Teams with Beulah Fire Department, the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Emergency Services Bureau and the U.S. Forest Service were working to control the blaze.

According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, crews had to walk to fight the fire. About 1.5 acres had been burned as of 4:30 p.m. and there weren’t any buildings in the area.
