Memorial ceremony planned one year after Derek Greer and Natalie Partida were found dead

It has been one year since 15-year-old Derek Greer and 16-year-old Natalie Partida were found murdered along Old Pueblo Road in south El Paso County.

On Monday night, friends and family plan to meet along that road, to remember the lives taken too soon.

Heather Ferguson, Derek Greer’s mother, says people are welcome to come to the area near the 16000 block of Old Pueblo Road on Monday at 6:15 p.m. to attend the memorial.

People will release balloons in memory of Derek and Natalie.

The memorial is open to anyone who wants to attend.

On March 12, 2017, Derek and Natalie were found shot to death in the rural area. Since then, ten people were arrested in connection to the homicides, with five of those suspects facing first degree murder charges.
