Blue’s Clues looking for new host in return to Nickelodeon
Millennial parents will be able to share a piece of their childhood with their kids when one of the most popular children’s shows on Nickelodeon returns to TV this summer.
Blue’s Clues has been picked up for at least another 20 episodes on the network, according to a news release issued Thursday.
It’s going to feature a refreshed version of its signature look, but don’t expect to see Steve (or his oft-maligned replacement, Joe), the show is holding an open call for its newest host.
That’s right: if you think you’ve got the doodling skills to sketch out Blue’s three clues, you can audition for the show on April 14 in California. (Information on the auditions can be found HERE. )
The original Blue’s Clues premiered in 1996 and ran for a decade. It also became the highest-rated show for preschoolers, with roughly 14 million viewers each week by 2002.
Production on the reboot will begin this summer; a premiere date for the newest season hasn’t been released.
