Gusty today with high fire danger – 03/02/18

Today: Our big weather story today and this weekend will be our warmth and wind. Gusty conditions today coupled with dry fuels and low humidity will elevated fire danger. Red Flag Warnings run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today. Postpone outdoor burning and don’t throw cigarette butts! Highs will be well above-average, reaching the 60s and 70s.

Tonight: Overnight, mostly clear skies are expected. Lows drop to the 20s and 30s. We’ll be dealing with gusty winds into early Saturday morning as well.

Extended: We stay warm and windy this upcoming weekend as an area of low pressure starts moving to and eventually across the state. Fire danger continues Saturday with Fire Weather Watches in effect. Sunday, winds could be even stronger! It will also be gusty during the overnight hours as well. While temperatures soar above-the-norm on Saturday, it will be a bit cooler on Sunday. We’ll be sunny and crisp next work week.
