Reward increased to $2,100 for information in Woodland Park school threat

The Woodland Park Police Department has nearly tripled the reward money for information on the Woodland Park High School threat.

The high school was closed for a second day on Thursday due to a credible threat.

The threat is still be investigated and the Woodland Park Police Department has increased the reward money from $500 to $2,100 for any information about the suspect’s identity.

According to the District, businesses have been putting in money in hopes of catching the person responsible.

The threat was found inside a high school bathroom, but the exact message wasn’t released.

The district says lost educational time will be made up through extended school days or adding days to the school year. It announced on Thursday afternoon that classes would continue as normal on Friday.

All Woodland Park School District schools will be closed on Wednesday, February 28, due to a threat deemed credible by the Woodland Park Police Department.

This also includes all scheduled activities and athletics.

On Friday, February 23, officials discovered graffiti inside a girl’s restroom at the Woodland Park High School making a threat to the school directed towards a specific date.

It’s unclear what the message said, but investigators indicated that it targeted the entire student body.

The District will continue to work with local law enforcement on this investigation.
